Seoul City Warriors ended a run of disappointing results this evening, with a confident and disciplined victory over FC Blue. Coming away with a 5–1 victory, the Warriors were perhaps unlucky not to leave the field with a clean sheet and an even higher number of goals, but manager Jaewoo Seo will still be happy with his team’s impressive display.
Warriors desire to get back to winning ways was evident from the get-go, as within the first five minutes Tatsuya Kusano dispossessed the opposing center back and graciously squared for Kevin Conlan to put the Warriors ahead. Conlan later turned provider, as he followed off some great work on the sideline with a cross for Daragh Fitzpatrick to put the team 2-0 up, just before the halfway mark.
FC Blue then let themselves slip further behind, as they switched off from a corner and allowed Greg Walasek to nod the Warriors into a 3 goal lead. Manager Jaewoo Seo then got in on the act, laying on a delicious through ball for Younes El Rajfi to tuck home.
As the game drew to a close, the team was disappointed to surrender their clean sheet after some trickery in the box from the Blue striker allowed him to space to drill home. However, the game still finished on a high as Taehwan Lim won the ball back high up the field after some excellent pressing, before laying the ball off for a composed finish from the player who started the evening’s goal rush, Tatsuya Kusano.
A great night and perfect preparation for a tough game this weekend against FC Swag, a K5 team based in Paju
