Seoul City Warriors got back to winning ways this weekend, with a confident dismantling of Winners FC that featured some excellent interplay and superb finishing.
Final score: Seoul City Warriors 4 - 1 Winners FC
The Warriors were happy to welcome back Guillaume Pommet to their lineup, with the Frenchmen grabbing a brace before halftime. The first goal found the striker with his back to goal, but he managed to swivel with power and bury the ball into the bottom corner. The second strike was even more impressive, as “Gui” sent an absolute rocket into the far corner, well beyond the despairing dive of the Winners keeper.
The Warriors, who were experimenting with a new 3-5-2 lineup, had started excellently and were pressing Winners into constant errors, quickly reclaiming the ball whenever it was lost. Their 2-0 halftime lead was richly deserved.
The second half continued in the same vein, as Mark Mc Keever broke from midfield and skillfully rounded the keeper to make it 3-0. Warriors then perhaps slipped into overconfidence, as a succession of missed chances led to overexcited and impatient play. One of these moments of impatience led to a loss of possession, which unfortunately allowed Winners to break upfield and pull a goal back. Thankfully, this was a momentary blip, as Tatsuya Kusano restored the 3 goal advantage, confidently finishing after being put through by Matt Fennel.
An overall solid performance, with great goals, high pressing, and plenty of chance creation.
